Size difference
| Format | Size (mm) | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| A3 | 297×420 | Office ISO size, some digital presses |
| SRA3 | 320×450 | Print raw format with trim area |
Why SRA3 is common in print
The extra width and height become gripper margin and bleed after trimming to A4/A5 or custom jobs. On digital equipment, vendors often quote SRA3 or 320×460 mm — confirm with your shop.
Imposition impact
One more row of A6 on SRA3 vs A3 can mean fewer press sheets for the same run — always run both sizes in the sheet imposition calculator before quoting.
When A3 is enough
- Small digital devices with fixed A3 tray.
- Jobs already including full bleed inside A3 printable area.
- Internal proofs and drafts.
Does TypoStack support both?
Yes — pick A3 or SRA3 presets in the imposition calculator and compare sheet counts.
